With a life-long mission to always produce something new and exciting, Ahmad Izham Omar has ignited many different creative fields.
A well-respected content and media professional, Izham was recently Executive Director, Content & Creative of The Walt Disney Company (SEA). He led Disney’s entry into SEA original series, collaborating with top creatives and overseeing 14 top-ranking and award-winning series in just two and half years. Izham was also CEO of Primeworks Studios, then Malaysia’s largest production company, overseeing production of over 3000 content hours annually. There he championed hits like Ejen Ali The Movie and Malaysia’s first Netflix Original film, Pulang. His significant accomplishments in leadership roles at Media Prima include being CEO of Media Prima TV Networks (TV3, 8TV, ntv7, TV9) with a combined 45% market share, launching the highly-successful FTA station 8TV, establishing popular radio stations Hot FM, Fly FM and One FM, and introducing Malaysia’s first streaming service, tonton. Izham was also Chairman of the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum and Vice Chairman of the Malaysian Film Producers Association.
In the music industry, Izham introduced iconic artists such as Too Phat, OAG, Poetic Ammo and Innuendo, significantly transforming the Malaysian music industry while heading legendary record label Positive Tone. Through Media Prima’s record label Monkey Bone, he produced successful artists such as Faizal Tahir, Jaclyn Victor and Shila Amzah. He is also a multi award-winning music producer, arranger, songwriter and musician who has worked with big names including Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, Irish rock outfit Relish and K-Pop act Billlie.
Izham is currently on the Board of Trustees of the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and a Vice-Chairperson of Music Authors’ Copyright Protection (MACP).
